  • The Police Service Commission, in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force, has launched the recruitment of 50,000 constables, targeting both general duty and specialist roles. Applications open from 15 December 2025 to 25 January 2026.

The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has announced the commencement of recruitment for 50,000 Police Constables, following a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The recruitment drive aims to strengthen community policing, enhance internal security, and expand the manpower base of the Nigeria Police Force. The announcement was made by Torty Njoku Kalu, Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, in an official statement.

Eligibility Requirements

For General Duty Constables:

  • Applicants must hold GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or equivalent, with a minimum of five (5) credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings.
  • Age: 18–25 years.
  • Height: Minimum 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females.
  • Must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit.

For Specialist Cadre Applicants:

  • Must hold GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO or equivalent with a minimum of four (4) credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Must have at least three (3) years’ relevant experience and pass Trade Tests in their field.

  • Age: 18–28 years.
  • Must be Nigerian citizens by birth and meet fitness requirements.

The PSC stated that the recruitment portal will be open from Monday, 15 December 2025, to Sunday, 25 January 2026, providing a window for eligible candidates nationwide to apply.

This large-scale recruitment underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing public safety and professionalising the Nigerian Police Force, ensuring a stronger, more capable law enforcement presence across the country.
