BREAKING: Wike’s Loyalist Resigns As Governor Fubara’s Chief Of Staff
Johnson said Fubara would announce a replacement for Amadi at the appropriate time.
Chidi Amadi, Chief of Staff to Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has resigned.
VerseNews reports that the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joseph Johnson, confirmed the resignation, stating that Governor Fubara would announce a replacement in due course.
Johnson said Fubara would announce a replacement for Amadi at the appropriate time.
“The former Chief of Staff, Hon. Chidi Amadi, has resigned. The governor will announce another Chief of Staff at the appropriate time.
“It is the prerogative of the governor to appoint when he wants it. He will tell us, and we will announce it, and you will also get the release to that effect,” he said.
This marks the 10th resignation of Wike’s loyalists from Fubara’s administration amid the political crisis between Fubara and his estranged political godfather.
Calls have been made for the appointment of Edison Ehie, a former factional Speaker, as the new Chief of Staff, citing his support during a plot by 27 lawmakers to impeach Fubara.
