Fubara Keeps ‘Mum On Issues’ After Close-Door Meeting With Tinubu In Aso Rock, Details

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Thursday met with Governor Simi Fubara of Rivers State at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
VerseNews reports that the meeting which held behind closed doors started at about 5:35pm immediately after the governor arrived at the Presidential Villa.
The governor came alone to the meeting today unlike the last time he came to the State House with a delegation of his loyalists.
However, governor Fubara has refused to disclose the purpose and outcome of his meeting with President Tinubu. He told journalists that the meeting was private.
“It was a private visit”, he simply told journalists.
Although the agenda of his visit was not made public, it may not be unconnected with the political crisis in Rivers State.
Essentially, the crisis is about control of the political structure of the state. This has pitched the governor against his estranged political godfather and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.
