Nigerian Soldiers Kill Over 117 Bandits In Kebbi Airstrikes

Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji, led by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division, carried out coordinated airstrikes on the road to Sageko Malekachi village in Kebbi State, resulting in the elimination of more than 100 bandits.

VerseNews reports that the airstrikes were executed following an intelligence report of a bandit gathering in MADADA, MARU LGA of ZAMFARA STATE on the afternoon of October 11, 2023.

These bandits had initially planned to attack military locations and other vulnerable targets in Kebbi State but reversed their course when they learned of blocking forces in BENA and MALEKACHI, retreating towards DAN SADAU, MARU LGA of ZAMFARA State.

The Air Force Component of Operation Hadarin Daji tracked and engaged the bandits in DAN MANI, resulting in the deaths of over 100 bandits.

Ground troops also joined the operation, eliminating an additional 17 bandits who attempted to flee.

The operation led to the destruction of 17 motorcycles, the recovery of a damaged AK-47 rifle, and the retrieval of 17 rounds of 7.2 MM Special Ammo.

Furthermore, it was discovered that a mass burial for the bandits took place in SANGEKO, NIGER State, and BABBAN DOKA, MARU LGA of ZAMFARA State.

Several wounded bandits were intercepted in BABBAN DOKA.

The military authority commended the troops for their swift and effective response, which resulted in the significant defeat of the bandits.
