The Anambra Police Command has arrested a couple trafficking a one-month-old baby, purchased for thirty thousand naira (N30,000) from Lagos.

VerseNews reports that this was disclosed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga.

According to the statement, the interception was made at Bridgehead in Onitsha after a co-passenger observed the mother’s inability to breastfeed the baby during the journey.

“The police laid in wait for the luxury bus described and intercepted it in the evening. The couple and the baby were identified and brought down for questioning.
