Air Peace has announced that it will begin direct flight operations from Abuja to Heathrow and Gatwick airports in London, United Kingdom, starting October 26, 2025.

The announcement was made via the airline’s official Facebook page, where it emphasized that the expansion would offer travelers greater flexibility and access to premium travel options.

“The journey just got bigger and even better. We’re not just flying to London, we’re giving you more of London,” the airline stated.

“Air Peace is now connecting Abuja to both Heathrow and Gatwick, expanding your options, your comfort, and your access to world-class travel.”

The development follows months of negotiation and approvals between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

On April 25, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, revealed that Air Peace had secured clearance to begin the Abuja–London route. Subsequently, Nigeria secured a Heathrow slot for the airline under the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) with the UK.

This breakthrough came after Nigeria criticized UK authorities over the consistent denial of Heathrow slots to Air Peace despite repeated applications.

Air Peace had earlier launched its Lagos–London Gatwick service on March 30, 2024, which was widely regarded as a major step in boosting local participation in international aviation.

Keyamo also reiterated the federal government’s commitment to supporting indigenous airlines, ensuring they receive equal opportunities on global routes.
