- Suspected armed bandits struck the First ECWA Church in Ayetoro Kiri, Kabba/Bunu LGA of Kogi State, leaving one person dead and several worshippers abducted.

Suspected armed bandits attacked the First ECWA Church in Ayetoro Kiri, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State on Sunday, resulting in the death of a man identified as Jayjay and the abduction of several worshippers.
Zacchaeus Dare, Chairman of Kabba/Bunu LGA, confirmed that security operatives neutralised about five of the attackers. However, the exact number of abducted worshippers is still being assessed as authorities trail the assailants.
He expressed concern over the continued disregard for government advisories restricting social and religious gatherings in insecure areas. “Holding prolonged services despite these advisories undermines the efforts of the government and security agencies,” Dare said.

The attack marks the second church assault in Okun land within weeks. On November 30, bandits attacked a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Ejiba, Yagba West LGA, abducting a cleric, Orlando, and other worshippers. Ransom demands reportedly started at ₦500 million, later reduced to ₦200 million.
