Adebola Akin-Bright, a 12-year-old boy in Lagos State, who had a missing intestine, has passed away.
VerseNews reports that the boy’s mother, Abiodun Deborah, confirmed his death during a phone conversation with Vanguard.
Adebola died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had previously visited Adebola and promised to cover his medical expenses, following allegations that the boy’s small intestine disappeared while he was receiving treatment at LASUTH.
LASUTH’s hospital management denied these allegations in a statement posted on its profile on an unspecified date in August 2023.
The Lagos State House of Assembly had stated that anyone found responsible for the missing intestine case would face prosecution in due course.
