President Bola Tinubu is currently holding an emergency meeting with key National Assembly leaders and top security chiefs at the State House, Abuja.
VerseNews reports that in attendance are Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.
Also present are National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, SSS Director-General Adeola Ajayi, and NIA Director-General Mohammed Mohammed.

While the agenda has not been officially disclosed, the meeting is believed to be linked to the escalating political crisis in Rivers State, where 27 lawmakers aligned with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike are pushing to impeach Governor Siminalayi Fubara. The political standoff has heightened tensions and fears of instability in the state.
Additionally, the meeting follows a pipeline explosion on the Trans Niger Pipeline in Bodo Community, Gokana LGA, further raising security concerns in the oil-producing region.
