Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) after resigning his membership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
El-Rufai picked up his ADC membership card at the Ungwan Sarki ward in Kaduna, marking his formal entry into the coalition party.
In his resignation letter addressed to the chairman of the SDP, Kaduna State chapter—sighted by journalists—El-Rufai wrote:
“I wish to notify you that I have resigned my membership of the SDP, effective 26 November 2025. My focus remains on making my contributions to strengthening a unified democratic platform to offer a political alternative to the people of Nigeria.”

The ADC, in a post on its official Facebook page, also confirmed his registration, stating:
“Alhamdulillah, Malam Nasir El-Rufai officially registered as an ADC member and picked up his membership card at Unguwar Sarki ward, Kaduna State.”
