Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has dismissed 30 special advisers in a major shake-up of his administration, signaling a fresh phase of reorganisation at the state level.
The decision was announced during his first State Executive Council meeting with newly sworn-in commissioners at the Government House in Minna.

“The termination of their appointment was to allow me to rejig and reposition their portfolios with the view to making them more effective and efficient in line with my New Niger agenda,” the governor said.

Despite the dismissal, Bago expressed appreciation to the affected advisers for their service to the state, acknowledging their contributions since the beginning of his administration.
“I appreciate them for their sacrifices and contributions towards the success of my administration and also wish them well in their future endeavours,” he added.
