Mixed Reactions as Labour Party Chairman Julius Abure Visits Nyesom Wike in Abuja
The visit has triggered mixed reactions online, with many questioning Abure’s motive

The National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, on Sunday visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, at his Abuja residence.
Photograph of the meeting, now circulating on X (formerly Twitter), shows both men standing and holding hands. No statement was issued by either side about the visit’s purpose.
The visit has triggered mixed reactions online, with many questioning Abure’s motive, especially as Wike remains a key figure in President Bola Tinubu’s administration and an open critic of the newly formed ADC opposition coalition involving Labour Party leaders like Peter Obi.

Some LP supporters on social media described it as “a betrayal”, while others see it as a possible political strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.
As of press time, both Abure and Wike have yet to clarify the reason for the meeting.
