  • Nottingham Forest have confirmed the appointment of Sean Dyche as their new head coach on a deal running until 2027, just days after parting ways with Ange Postecoglou, who lasted only 40 days in charge.

Premier League side Nottingham Forest have officially appointed Sean Dyche as their new head coach on a contract lasting until 2027.

The 54-year-old, who previously managed Burnley and Everton, returns to top-flight football to replace Ange Postecoglou — dismissed on Saturday after just 40 days at the City Ground.

Dyche, once a Forest trainee under legendary manager Brian Clough, becomes the club’s third manager this season, marking his first return to the dugout since leaving Everton earlier this year.

In an official statement, Forest described Dyche as “a respected and experienced Premier League manager” with “the perfect blend of character, tactical acumen and proven achievement” to guide the club through its next chapter.

His first assignment will be Thursday’s Europa League clash at home against FC Porto.

Postecoglou’s exit came swiftly after a crushing 3–0 defeat to Chelsea, making him the shortest-serving permanent manager in Premier League history.

Forest’s owner, Evangelos Marinakis, made the call following eight winless games, despite investing over £100 million during the summer transfer window.

Currently sitting in the relegation zone with just five points, Dyche faces an uphill battle to stabilize the club and reignite their Premier League campaign.
