Rema Finally Speaks On Using Satanic Symbols During 02 Arena Concert
Certain attendees took to social media to accuse Rema of engaging in satanic symbolism…
Renowned Nigerian musician Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has addressed the allegations surrounding his use of perceived “satanic” or “Illuminati” symbols during his recent headline concert at London’s 02 Arena on November 14, 2023.
Having filled the 20,000-seat arena, Rema joins the ranks of exceptional African artists such as Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake, who’ve achieved a sold-out show at this globally renowned music venue.
VerseNews gathered that certain attendees took to social media to accuse Rema of engaging in satanic symbolism during his performance.
In response, the Edo-born star clarified via his X account that the artificial horse he rode on stage was inspired by a Benin artifact, and the mask he wore resembled the famous Queen Idia mask.
Moreover, the artificial bat featured in his second appearance was intended as a tribute to the bats commonly seen in the Edo night sky.
Sharing a snippet from his controversial concert, Rema expressed, “RAVAGE UPRISING/ My Ancestors bronzes sit in the museum of this very city, so I remade mine. Hence, Edo is redefined, the map reshaped, your minds awakened & the mask reborn. Thank you London! 🦇🇬🇧”
Meanwhile, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State congratulated Rema on the success of his sold-out concert at the 02 Arena in London. Obaseki commended Rema for embodying the essence of Edo heritage.
On his X handle, Obaseki stated, “We are indeed proud of the enigma of @heisrema and what he has come to represent, especially his personification of the Edo heritage. We applaud his genius and celebrate him as he takes the world stage by storm.”
