- President Bola Tinubu has approved the composition of Nigeria’s delegation to the US–Nigeria Joint Working Group, a bilateral platform aimed at strengthening security cooperation between both countries.

President Bola Tinubu has approved the constitution of the Nigerian side of the US–Nigeria Joint Working Group, a key step in strengthening cooperation with the United States on tackling security challenges facing the country.
The approval follows agreements reached during a recent high-level visit to Washington, DC, led by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu. The Joint Working Group is expected to deepen collaboration across multiple security and strategic sectors.
Ribadu will lead the Nigerian delegation, supported by a multi-stakeholder team drawn from key government ministries and agencies.

According to the statement, members of the Joint Working Group include:
- Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Maitama Tuggar
- Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar
- Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo
- Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Bernard M. Doro
- Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Olufemi Oluyede
- Director-General, National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Mohammed Mohammed
- Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun

Ms. Idayat Hassan from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) and Mr. Paul Alabi from the Nigerian Embassy in the United States will serve as the secretariat for the Joint Working Group.
President Tinubu called on the members to work closely with their US counterparts to ensure the effective implementation of all agreements reached during the bilateral engagements.
