The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has confirmed that results for the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates will be released on or before Monday, August 4, 2025.

This announcement comes amid growing speculation and the circulation of false reports online claiming that the entire 2025 WASSCE had been cancelled due to examination malpractice and security breaches.

In a press statement issued on Sunday, July 20, 2025, WAEC debunked the rumours, stating unequivocally that the examination has not been cancelled and that the marking of scripts has just been concluded.

“The Council is certain that the false claim is being peddled by mischief-makers who are bent on causing confusion and panic,” the statement read.

WAEC emphasized that all information regarding its operations is disseminated only through its official social media channels and accredited media platforms.
