An old interview of Big Brother Naija 2019 winner Mercy Eke has resurfaced online, triggering widespread reactions across social media.
In the clip, the reality TV star openly spoke about undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) and explained the reasons behind her decision to have the cosmetic procedure.
VerseNews reports that Mercy Eke said she did not undergo the surgery because her body looked bad, stressing that she was already confident about her appearance.
The graduate of Imo State University revealed that she had the BBL procedure in 2018, explaining that the trend and peer pressure influenced her decision at the time.
The resurfaced interview has gained renewed attention following the reported death of Lagos socialite Jessica, who allegedly died after complications from a second BBL surgery.
During the interview, Mercy Eke explained that although she believed she already looked beautiful, she had concerns about her stomach.
According to her, she felt her stomach appeared bigger, which she jokingly attributed to frequently eating fufu.
She also admitted that she was extremely nervous before undergoing the surgery and said she could not inform her mother about it beforehand.

The reality TV star added that she underwent the BBL procedure alongside two of her friends and said the operation went successfully for them.
Mercy Eke further explained that the most painful stage of the procedure occurs after the surgery, particularly during post-operative massages performed by nurses to help drain excess fluid from the body.
VerseNews reports that she also disclosed that patients are typically unable to sleep on their buttocks for about 14 days after the surgery, making the recovery process uncomfortable.
She added that waking up after the operation can be extremely painful, noting that many patients cry during the first few days due to the intense discomfort associated with the recovery period.
