The United States of America has asked Nigerians to increase their electoral participation rate in the 2023 election scheduled to hold on Saturday 25 February 2023.

VerseNews reports that the US Secretary of States, Antony Blinken said the the world is watching Nigeria in the Saturday’s election.
“This election matters – not only to Nigerians but to the rest of the world.”
“The Nigerian people have a friend and partner in the United States of America,” He said.

Speaking further, the US ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thoma-Greenfield in a video message to Nigerian said they are interested in a free and fair election and have no preferred candidate for the presidential seat.
She said; “The United States does not support any individual candidate for office. Free and fair elections in Nigeria help create a freer and fairer world for everyone.
“We are invested in your success. Our shared democratic futures depend on it.”
