- Manchester United have reportedly revived their interest in Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi as they search for Casemiro’s replacement.

Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi as they search for a replacement following Casemiro’s departure from Old Trafford at the end of last season.
The Red Devils have been forced to explore new midfield options after missing out on several top transfer targets during the summer window, including Elliott Anderson, Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, all of whom secured moves elsewhere.
United have now revived their long-standing interest in Ndidi, having previously attempted to sign the Nigerian midfielder last summer before the deal collapsed. Ndidi eventually joined Turkish giants Besiktas, where he has impressed with his consistent performances.
The 29-year-old has made 31 appearances for Besiktas this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist, establishing himself as one of the Turkish Super Lig’s most reliable midfielders.
However, a recent managerial change at Besiktas has reportedly placed Ndidi’s future in doubt, with the club willing to consider offers and valuing the Nigerian international at around €8 million.
Manchester United are not alone in the race for his signature, as Hull City are also said to be monitoring the midfielder’s situation. Several clubs in the Saudi Pro League have equally been linked with a move for the Super Eagles captain.
Ndidi enjoyed an outstanding eight-year spell at Leicester City after joining from Belgian side Genk, making more than 200 appearances for the Foxes. During his time at the club, he helped Leicester win the FA Cup and the Community Shield, while cementing his reputation as one of the Premier League’s finest defensive midfielders.
He was also part of the Nigerian national team that finished on the podium at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations.
If the transfer to Old Trafford is completed, Ndidi would become only the second Nigerian footballer to play for Manchester United, following former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo.
