Abians celebrating Alex Otti

Today, Abians celebrates ‘liberation’ following the declaration of Alex Otti of Labour Party (LP) as the winner of the Abia State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

VerseNews Nigeria reportd that, Otti was declared winner of the state’s governorship election by the INEC Returning Officer in the state, Prof Nnenna Nnannaya-Oti declared Otti the winner on Wednesday evening.

Before the commencement of the result collation which was suspended by the commission after thugs invaded the Collation Centre, Nnannaya-Oti assured that the ‘Peoples mandate’ will not be denied.

Declaring the winner, she announced that Otti polled a total of 175,467 votes to defeat Okey Ahiwe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 88,529 votes and Enyinnaya Nwafor of YPP who came third with 28,972 votes.

Truly, Otti is the ‘mandate’ of Abians as they celebrate his victory in the streets, market places, offices and all over the state.

Some of the residents out of excitement, gifts out items, some where seen showing off unusual display and others knelt down thanking God in praises and worship.

Otti in his acceptance speech wholeheartedly accepted the ‘peoples mandate’. He assured to rebuild and transform the state for the benefit of all residents.
