ADC Reveals How FG Offered 3 Ministerial Slots to Bribe and Destabilize Party

ADC has alleged that the Federal Government attempted to bribe the party with three ministerial slots in a bid to destabilize its growing opposition coalition.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the Federal Government of attempting to scuttle the party’s rise by offering three ministerial slots in exchange for abandoning its opposition coalition.
This revelation came during the ADC’s 99th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, where former Senate President David Mark was officially inaugurated as the party’s National Chairman.

Outgoing Chairman Ralphs Okey Nwosu disclosed that he rejected the federal government’s alleged offer, which he described as a desperate ploy to weaken the party.
“They offered me ministerial slots—one for myself and two for people of my choice—but it was all aimed at killing the coalition. When that failed, they resorted to kidnappings and intimidation. Yet, we stood firm for Nigeria,” Nwosu said.

He further accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of using state resources to destabilize the opposition by funding political saboteurs in Abuja’s luxury hotels, but insisted that the ADC remained committed to protecting Nigeria’s democracy from a one-party system.
At the NEC meeting, two major resolutions were passed: the reinstatement of previously suspended members (excluding Ibe Kachikwu) and the dissolution of the former National Working Committee (NWC) in favor of a caretaker committee led by David Mark.

The new leadership team includes:
- Rauf Aregbesola – Secretary
- Bolaji Abdullahi – National Publicity Secretary
- Six Deputy National Chairmen representing different geopolitical zones
In his acceptance speech, David Mark pledged to lead the party with integrity, transparency, and inclusivity, vowing to prioritize grassroots mobilization, internal democracy, and youth and women participation.

“This is the dawn of a new chapter in ADC. Internal democracy, transparency, and accountability will be our mantra,” Mark said, adding that 35% of leadership positions will go to women and young people under 40 will be given more opportunities.
The former Senate President also announced the creation of a 50-member policy committee to draft a comprehensive blueprint for the party, focusing on health, education, security, agriculture, and the economy, as ADC positions itself for the 2027 presidential election.
