After 36 Days, 3 Of 8 Kidnapped Corps Members Rescued – NYSC
The abducted corps members have been in captivity for over 36 days.
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) management has said they are collaborating with security agencies to secure the safe release of five prospective corps members who were abducted in Zamfara State while en route to the Orientation Camp in Sokoto.
VerseNews reports that during a meeting with members of the House Committee on Youth, led by Hon. Martin Esin, which was held to discuss the situation and ongoing efforts to secure the release of the remaining abductees.
He said out of the eight corps members initially kidnapped on August 17, three have already been released.
The abducted corps members have been in captivity for over 36 days.
The NYSC director general, Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, is engaged in consultations with various stakeholders, including the Zamfara State government, traditional leaders, and clerics, to ensure the safe release of the remaining abductees.
The released corps members have been redeployed to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and received proper medical attention.
