- Following the collapse of her marriage to music star Innocent Idibia, actress Annie Macaulay has focused on healing, self-care and family, while her recent social media activity continues to spark public reactions.

Actress Annie Macaulay has been leaning fully into a new phase of her life since the crash of her marriage to popular singer, Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba.
Although the divorce process has not been formally concluded, both Annie and the singer appear to be adjusting to life apart. For the actress, this period has been defined by intentional self-care, personal reflection and a renewed focus on her children.
Shortly after the separation, Annie embarked on a wellness retreat that took her to Qatar and Singapore before extending the journey to Cape Town, South Africa. Since returning, she has continued to place her daughters at the centre of her life, frequently sharing moments that underline their close bond and her dedication to their emotional well-being.
Her social media activity during this time has carried strong messages of self-worth and introspection. In September, she posted a text image that read, “I hope my daughter doesn’t accept things I’ve accepted, that she knows her worth from the start and that no matter what, she always has me in her corner.”
In December, after a video circulated online showing 2Baba and his wife, Natasha, in an altercation that reportedly ended with the singer being escorted away by police officers, Annie shared Instagram Stories that many followers viewed as subtle responses.

One post read, “Sometimes, trying to prove that you are the best is an insult.” Another showed burning matchsticks with one pulled away from the others, accompanied by the words, “The power of stepping away.”

She also drew attention when she used 2Baba’s song, ‘Enter the Place’, to promote an event in Cape Town, a move that generated mixed reactions from fans.
Further speculation followed when Annie changed her Instagram handle back to Annie Idibia. She had earlier dropped the surname after 2Baba publicly announced their separation on Instagram, thanking supporters and signing off with her maiden name. At the time, she wrote, “God Bless you for the outpouring of love… Lots of LOVE. Annie Uwana Macaulay.”
Annie formally acknowledged the separation in May 2025 at the 17th Headies Awards in Lagos. While addressing the audience, she initially introduced herself as “Annie Idi…” before correcting herself to “Annie Macaulay,” a moment that underscored the transition she continues to navigate.
