APC Chairman Suspended For Raping, Impregnating His 14-Year-Old Housegirl

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Roni Local Government Area in Jigawa State has been put on administrative leave.

VerseNews reports that the State Chairman, Hon. Ali Sani Gumel, made this known in a statement on Thursday.

The 56-year-old Saleh Idris was detained for allegedly r@ping his housegirl.

According to the statement, “Following the allegation of rape and impregnation of minor and the outcome of preliminary investigation of the state chapter, the party has come up with the following resolutions:

“That your act contravened section 21.2 (viii) and (x) of the APC 2022 Constitution as amended and that there is a need for further investigations.”

Therefore, Idris will be suspended until the conclusion of the investigation.

The vice chairman of the local government received an order from the party to take over its affairs.

Saleh Idris’s arrest was confirmed by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.

The suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday, October 18, according to a statement released by CSC Adamu Shehu, the NSCDC’s spokesman as a result of a complaint made by the victim’s brother, who claimed the suspect had sexually assaulted and impregnated his sister, a 14-year-old housekeeper, at the suspect’s home.
