APC has confirmed Dennis Idahosa as the deputy governorship candidate ahead of Edo governorship election.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed Dennis Idahosa as its deputy gubernatorial candidate for the September 21 Edo Governorship election.

VerseNews reports that this decision comes after a series of deliberations involving key stakeholders and party leadership.

Idahosa, a respected member of the House of Representatives, emerged as the new running mate to Monday Okpebholo following extensive discussions among party officials and Vice President Kashim Shettima.

This decision replaces the earlier announcement of Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama as the running mate.

The announcement was confirmed by an aide to Okpebholo, highlighting the involvement of APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje and National Secretary Ajibola Bashiru. They are set to present the party’s flag bearer and his new running mate to President Bola Tinubu for further endorsement.

At the meeting were the party’s flag bearer (Okpebholo), former Edo Governor, Adams Oshiomhole; and Idahosa who lost the ticket to Okpebholo following the controversies that greeted the party’s primary election of February 1 which was later concluded on the 21st of February 21m 2024.
