Armed robbers have attacked Gateway Polytechnic (ICT) in Ogun State, killing one student and injuring nine others.

VerseNews reports that the incident occurred shortly after a protest by students regarding alleged robberies and assaults on female students.

The attack took place in off-campus hotels, prompting a three-day shutdown by the institution’s management.

Despite a meeting with the Commissioner of Police, the robbers returned, causing further harm.

Videos of the attack reveal significant damage.

A senior lecturer in the institution confirmed the incident, expressing concern about the government’s failure to protect lives.

The police spokesperson and the institution’s Head of Public Relations did not comment, and students passed a vote of no confidence in the Governor over security challenges.
