Atiku, Buhari Hail Joshua For Comeback Win After Defeating Franklin

President Muhammadu Buhari and the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku congratulated Anthony Joshua for defeating Jermaine Franklin.

VerseNews Nigeria reports that Joshua records first win in over two years Saturday night after a unanimous points win over American, Franklin, at the London 02 Arena.

The Nigerian-born boxer has lost consecutive bouts to WBA (Super), IBF and WBO world champion Oleksandr Usyk.

In a statement on Saturday, Buhari will be a stepping stone to one of the greatest comebacks in the history of boxing.

President said the former three-time world heavyweight champion has demonstrated that by hard work, patience, dedication, persistence and humility, those who dare do win after standing tall despite past setbacks.

However, Atiku in a statement said Joshua’s victory is a symbol of hard work, dedication and skill.
