Hundreds of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) members in Rimin Gado, Kano State, have crossed over to the All Progressives Congress.
- Hundreds of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) members in Rimin Gado, Kano State, have crossed over to the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing President Tinubu’s development projects as their major reason for switching allegiance.
No fewer than 774 members of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) have defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rimin Gado Local Government Area of Kano State.
The defectors were received on Friday by the Managing Director of the Hadejia–Jam’are River Basin Development Authority, Rabiu Bichi, who described their move as a “bold and fortunate decision.”
Bichi declared that the APC remains the only party capable of driving Nigeria toward meaningful and sustained development. He noted that President Bola Tinubu’s projects in the northern region speak clearly about the administration’s commitment to delivering progress.

According to him, over 18 major projects valued at billions of naira have been completed in Kano State alone. He also criticised some state governments for allegedly diverting funds meant for development to unrelated sectors.
“The Renewed Hope Agenda is already yielding results,” Bichi said. “From economic recovery to improved food security through new agricultural programmes, this administration is delivering. I assure you that you will all be fully integrated and treated as long-standing APC members.”
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Mohammad Karofin-Yashi said the group was convinced by the development strides of the APC-led government. He pledged that more NNPP members would soon follow and officially join the APC.
