The Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal Abuja has adjourned the case of the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi challenging the victory of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to 2pm on Wednesday May 10, 2023.
VerseNews Nigeria reported that the Appeal Court will today Monday, May, 8 begin pre-hearing in the petitions challenging the outcome of the February 25 presidential election.
Obi who came third in the presidential election has refused to accept the outcome of the election on the ground that it lacks credibility, transparency and contradicts the Electoral Act, 2022.
This Online News Media reports that the former Governor of Anambra insisted he wants to contest the process leading to INEC’s declaration of Tinubu as the president-elect.

“I want to state categorically that at the Presidential Elections Tribunal (PET), I am challenging the INEC electoral process that led to the declaration of Tinubu as president-elect as well as the declaration itself,” Obi said.
Obi has in his petition asked the court to nullify Tinubu’s victory and declare him the winner of the election or cancel the election and conduct a fresh one.
Some of the points he raised in the petition include allegations of Drug case/$460,000 forfeiture, Scoring below 25% in FCT, Forged certificate, INEC’s procedural flaws and Shettima’s double nomination.
