BREAKING: CBN Speaks On Plan To Shut Down Financial Transactions From February 23
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has on Wednesday February 22 denied making any plan to shut down online financial transactions from Thursday February till Monday February 27, 2023.
VerseNews Nigeria reports that there have been message circulating online telling Nigerians to make sure they have enough money with them and should also stock their houses with enough food to sustain them as all commercial banks across he country will shut down their transaction network.
The message also reveals that the decision is to prevent any form of vote buying by politicians during the Saturday’s presidential election.

Reacting to the message, CBN said is fake and should be disregarded.
