Arafat Day will be on Saturday, June 15, followed by Eid Al-Adha, also known as Eid-El-Kabir, on Sunday, June 16, 2024.
The moon sighting signals the beginning of Dhu Al Hijjah, during which the Hajj pilgrimage and Eid Al-Adha occur.
Eid Al-Adha, celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu Al Hijjah, commemorates Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah, who then provided an animal to sacrifice instead.
