The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Party (APC) winner of the 2023 presidential election held on Saturday February 25.

VerseNews Nigeria reports that the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahood Yakubu in the earlier hour of Wednesday May 1 made the declaration at the National Collation Center, Abuja.

The former Lagos State Governor defeated the 17 other presidential candidates with a total of 8,794,726 votes to cling the winner of the election.

His closets allies, Alhaji Altiku ABubakar of Peoples democratic Party (PDP) got a total of 6,984,520 votes, Peter Obi of the Labour Party got 6,101,533 votes and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the Nigeria New People’s Party (NNPP) got 1,496,687 votes.
