Nnamdi Kanu blows hot over insecurity in south-east after he was denied bail.

Nnamdi Kanu, the embattled leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has accused some government officials of profiting from the pervasive insecurity in the South-East region of Nigeria.

VerseNews reports that Kanu made this assertion on Tuesday, following the denial of bail by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court Abuja.

Speaking again 33 months since his detention at Nigeria Department of Security Services (DSS), Kanu expressed his belief that peace could be restored in the South-East if he were released from the custody of the DSS.

Meanwhile, He alleged complicity among certain government figures, suggesting that they benefit financially from the ongoing insecurity in the region.

“I suspect that some people in government are complicit. They are making money with this insecurity. They know if Nnamdi Kanu is outside, in two minutes, this nonsense will stop,” Kanu told reporters.”

Kanu emphasized his willingness to facilitate peace in the South-East, stating that his release from custody would swiftly put an end to the violence associated with IPOB activities.

Moreso,He assured that within a mere two minutes of his freedom, he could guarantee peace and stability in the region, urging an end to violence perpetrated in the name of IPOB.

“Anybody involved in any form of violence in the South-East in the name of IPOB, let me come out of this nonsense, this mess, only two minutes, I guarantee you, and there will be peace in the South-East.”

Prior to his remarks outside the courtroom, Kanu addressed the court, lamenting his poor treatment by the DSS and raising concerns about a perceived conspiracy aimed at ensuring his demise while in custody.

Kanu, who has been detained by the DSS since his extradition in June 2021, is currently facing charges related to treasonable felony.
