The Supreme Court has failed to recognize Ibrahim Shekarau as the the Senatorial candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State.
The Supreme Court has failed to recognize Ibrahim Shekarau as the the Senatorial candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State.
VerseNews Nigeria reports that Shekarau under NNPP was declared winner of the Senatorial District election on February 25 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It was gathered that Shekarau abandoned his ticket and dumped his party NNPP to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

After his defection, NNPP replaced him with Rufai Hanga but INEC insisted that he remained the authentic candidate of NNPP
Justice Inyang Okoro-led five-member panel in delivering his judgement in the court faulted INEC for refusing to replace Shekarau with Hanga before the election.
He therefore affirmed Hanga as the authentic candidate for the NNPP.
