President Bola Tinubu has finalized plans to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State, according to two presidential sources familiar with the matter.
VerseNews learnt that the announcement is expected soon.
The move follows escalating political violence between FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara, as Wike intensifies efforts to unseat the governor in their ongoing power struggle.

A presidential spokesperson declined to comment, while Wike and Fubara have not responded to inquiries.
