BREAKING: Tinubu’s Government To Delay Workers Salaries ‘Beyond Normal’
Tinubu-led government has announced that there will be a delay in January salaries for all federal civil servants.
The President Ahmed Bola Tinubu-led government has announced that there will be a delay in January salaries for all federal civil servants.
VerseNews reports that this was confirmed in a memo issued by the management of the National Mathematical Center, Abuja on Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
It stated that the payment of salaries to Federal Government Civil servants will be delayed beyond normal.
The center in a memo signed by its acting bursar, Pius Ukwah attributed the delay to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF).
According to the memo, the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) office is still working on finalizing the 2024 Appropriation on the GIFMIS platform and as a result the Personnel Warrant for the month of January 2024 is yet to be released.
The memo further revealed that the delay will cut across other MDA’s and not just the Centre.
The memo urged their staff to exercise patience as “we await a positive resolution by the OAGF.”
The memo titled; “DELAY IN THE PAYMENT OF JANUARY 2024 SALARY, reads; “We wish to inform you that January 2024 salaries will be delayed beyond normal.
“As at today (Janury 31, 2024), the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation is still working on finalizing the 2024 Appropriation on the GIFMIS platform and as a result the Personnel Warrant for the month of January 2024 is yet to be released.
“The same situation applies to all MDAs and not just the Centre. We regret the inconvenience caused by this delay.
Please let us continue to exercise patience as we await a positive resolution by the OAGF.
