According to reports made available to VerseNews Nigeria, the British Government has tender their apology to the Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi over his illegal ‘detention’, and ‘harassment’ at Heathrow Airport in London.
This Online News Media reports that the apology came following the admittance of immigration official to have wrongly handed him a detention note in a search of man who impersonated him to commit perjury, forgery and identity theft.
According to the British authority, the uncomplimentary treatment he received was “completely illegal, unacceptable”, and hence issuea a personal apology.

“Frankly, the immigration Official’s action has been appalling, and we are sorry.” The authority wrote.
This Online News Media reported that Obi was detained and interrogated for hours by immigration officials at the Heathrow Airport in London on April 7, 2023.
This was disclosed by the Head of Obi-Datti Media office, Diran Onifade who gave the details in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
Onifade said the former Governor of Anambra State was wrongly detained over ‘imposter’s crime.’
He added that the imposter of Obi may commit various crimes that would lead to the arrest of the LP flag bearer in the United Kingdom for duplication.
