The Edo Government has announced new dates for the school certificate examinations in the state will be from May 2 to May 6, 2023.

VerseNews Nigeria reports that the new date was announced by on Sunday in Benin, the capital city of the state by Dr. Oni Ekhosuehi on behalf of the state Commissioner for Education, Dr. Joan Osa-Oviawe.

This Online News Media reports that that the examinations earlier fixed for March were postponed due to the clash with the 2023 State House of Assembly election.

Announcing the new dates, Ekhosuehii said that the 2023 Middle Basic Examination (MBE), otherwise known as Primary Six Certificate Examination, was now rescheduled for May 6.

While the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), formerly known as Junior School Certificate Examination (JSCE) would run from May 2 to 5.
