Bashir El-Rufai, son of ex-Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has come under fire for threatening to kill a social media user and their family over an offensive tweet directed at his mother.
Bashir El-Rufai, son of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has sparked widespread outrage after threatening to kill a social media user who insulted his mother, Hadiza El-Rufai, in a controversial online exchange.
The incident began when Hadiza weighed in on the U.S. travel ban that affected Nigeria and three other African countries. In her post, she stated that many Nigerians doing well abroad are of Igbo origin. While some users supported her view, others responded with insults.

Defending her position, Hadiza tweeted:
“No cyberbully can take away my right to express my opinion. Not everything is about politics; but that is something some of you will never understand.”
