Elon Musk Reportedly Changes His Phone Number to Avoid Donald Trump
Elon Musk changed his phone number to avoid former President Donald Trump after a major fallout between the two.

House Speaker Mike Johnson has claimed that Elon Musk changed his phone number to avoid former President Donald Trump after a major fallout between the two.
Johnson, a Republican from Louisiana, said he realized Musk had changed his number when he tried to send him a long text during the drama surrounding Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill.” The bill, signed on July 4, cuts taxes for the wealthy but reduces healthcare and food programs for millions.
“I sent him a long message, but his number had changed after the blow-up,” Johnson said. “I later realized he never got it. I hope to meet him in person to make things right.”
Musk and Trump had once been close, but their relationship broke down earlier this year. Musk, frustrated with Trump’s spending bill, called it “a disgusting abomination,” warning it would increase the deficit by $2.5 trillion.
At the time, Musk was leading the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which was focused on cutting government spending. Under his leadership, thousands of federal employees lost their jobs, and several agencies were reduced in size.

Things worsened on June 5, when Musk accused Trump of appearing in the Epstein files. “Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files,” Musk posted. “That’s the real reason they haven’t been made public.”
By June 11, tensions had eased slightly. Musk expressed regret over his comments, and Trump said he had “no hard feelings.”
Not long after, Musk announced plans to create a new political group called the “America Party,” saying both major parties were ruining the country with waste and corruption. Trump dismissed the idea as “ridiculous” and even threatened to look into deporting Musk to South Africa, where he was born.
The back-and-forth continued when Musk recently criticized Trump’s response to the Epstein investigation, calling one of Trump’s posts “in the running for worst post ever made.”
