Vincent Kompany’s Burnley FC were no match with Tottenham Hotspur after they were beaten 5-1 courtesy Son Heung-Min’s hatrick on Saturday at Turf Moor.
Burnley were first to find the back of the net four minutes after kick off with Lyle Foster’s left footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre goal.
It wasn’t long enough when Son registered his first goal in the match with right footed shot from the center of the box to level the scoreline in the 16th minute.
Spurs goals started after Christian Romero put his team in the lead in the 45+2nd minute to make it 2-1 before half-time time.
The goals continued with James Maddison’s strike after Destiny Udogie’s assist in the 54th minute.
Son returned with two goals in the 63rd and 66th minute to give Spurs a wide goal 5-1 margin from Burnley.
But, the hosts came up with a consolation goal in the end courtesy Josh Brownhill to make it 5-2.
Spurs are second on the log with 10 points after four matches.
Elsewhere, Erling Haaland returned on goals for Manchester City with a brace in the 58th and 70th (penalty) minute but that was after Julian Alvarez opener in the 31st minute.
Also, Nathan Ake got his name on the score sheet in the five minutes extra time before the break.
City reclaim top spot on the English Premier League (EPL) table with 12 points after four games.
At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are yet to be reawakened after losing to Nothingham Forest by a lone goal courtesy Anthony Elanga’s goal in the 48th minute.
Chelsea are yet to ascend as they are 11th on the log with four points.
In the other matches played, Brentford shared the spoil with AFC Bournemouth as they settled for 2-2.
Also, there was no winner between Sheffield United and Everton after a 2-2 draw.
