The remains of Dr. Chinwoke Mbadinuju, former Governor of Anambra State, have been laid to rest in his home town of Ndikpa Village, Uli in the Ihiala Local Government Area, as the curtain falls on his life.
VerseNews reports that the late former governor of Anambra State, Mbadinuju, passed away on April 11, 2023.
His funeral rites began with a formal lying-in-state ceremony at the Anambra State Government House in Awka, followed by a commendation service at the International Convention Centre, where many Anambra State citizens paid their respects.
Professor Chukwuma Soludo, along with other ex-governors, prominent attendees, and citizens of Anambra State, partook in an interfaith service to give blessings and pray for the blessed rest of the deceased’s soul.
At the funeral on Friday, Governor Soludo highlighted the numerous legacy projects the late former Anambra leader left scattered across the state.
He also reminisced about the state’s security during his tenure, and spoke about the late former Anambra leader’s attempts to reclaim the state from the criminal elements.
Mbadinuju served as Governor of Anambra from 1999 to 2003, representing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He is fondly remembered for introducing Monday Morning Prayers to Anambra State and his memorable slogan ‘It Shall be well with Anambra State.
