57 lawyers, including 34-year-old Oyewole and Prof. Ubanyionwu, have been elevated to Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) status for outstanding legal excellence.

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), under the leadership of Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, has conferred the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) on 57 distinguished legal professionals.

The list, released after the LPPC’s 169th plenary session, includes 56 advocates and one academic. Among them are 34-year-old Olufemi Olubunmi Oyewole, Umar Suleh, maritime law expert Dr. Emeka Akabogu, and academic scholar Prof. Chima Josephat Ubanyionwu.

The swearing-in ceremony for the new SANs is scheduled to take place on Monday, September 29, 2025.
