Senegalese football star Sadio Mane’s wife Aisha Tamba has come forward to deny rumors going round that she married the football star because of his money.

VerseNews learnt that the 18 year old Aisha who married Mane in an Islamic ceremony on January 7 in Dakar Senegal through a statement said those accusations are malicious and meant to tarnish her name.

“I am looking forward to my new life, and I know that it will be very different. But I do not feel any pressure because Sadio’s fame and money will not change me because I’m not interested in them. I will remain a humble person committed to my faith.” Part of her statement read.

In response to the recent controversy surrounding Mane’s alleged marriage to an underage girl, Tamba emphasized that her relationship with the former Liverpool star is based on mutual understanding and shared values.

“I will remain a humble person committed to my faith,”

“I’m not used to having so much attention on me because we are a very private family. We don’t like to show off and speak about our personal lives. I am a very down-to-earth person, this is how I was raised, and nothing will be different just because of this marriage,”

“But I’m very honoured to now be Mrs Mane,”

Recently Senegalese President Macky Sall teased Mane after his recent Marriage.

He then wished the former Liverpool star a happy marriage, before reminding him that he has a duty to his wife now, apart from football.

“I called him up so that we could applaud him and wish him a happy marriage. May God bless your home and your descendants. From now on you have another job apart from scoring goals,” he said.
