Pastor Chris Okafor has tendered a public apology to Nollywood actress Doris Ogala following the controversy surrounding allegations levelled against him, a development that has further fueled public debate and online reactions.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, the cleric was seen kneeling while addressing his congregation during a church service on Sunday, December 28, 2025. The emotional moment unfolded as Pastor Okafor expressed remorse and appealed for understanding amid the ongoing scandal.

The pastor has been under intense scrutiny in recent weeks after Doris Ogala accused him of several allegations, including claims of a romantic relationship, breach of promise, and the alleged sharing of explicit photos involving his daughters. The accusations generated widespread outrage and divided public opinion.

During his sermon, Pastor Okafor admitted that he had made mistakes but strongly denied the allegations against him, insisting that many of the claims were untrue. He stated that his decision to apologise was driven by a desire to make peace and address anyone who may have been hurt by the controversy.

“Everything that was said is not true. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said. I’m sorry to everyone I’ve offended. To Doris Ogala, I also say sorry and I apologise,” he told the congregation.

The public apology has, however, not settled the matter. Social media platforms were flooded with mixed reactions shortly after the video surfaced, with some users praising the gesture as a step toward reconciliation, while others questioned the sincerity of the apology and accused the cleric of damage control.

As reactions continue to trail the incident, the apology has only deepened conversations around accountability, sincerity, and the role of public confessions in resolving high-profile controversies.

Whether the gesture will lead to genuine reconciliation or simply mark another chapter in the unfolding drama remains uncertain.
