VerseNews Nigeria reports that the INEC Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, on Friday February 24, while addressing journalists in Abuja assured Nigerians that the election results be announced smoothly without delay.
“I just want to say that we will ensure that result declaration will be done speedily. I can’t put a finger on the number of days or number of hours it will take but it will be done speedily.
“We are aware of the anxiety and the need for us to conclude the process quickly. It will be concluded quickly,” he said.

Contrary to his assurance, the Commission is yet to announce the winner of the 2023 presidential election.
In a press release, the commission claimed that they are experiencing technical hitches with the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) which has contributed to the delay in uploading results to the portal.
This Online Newspaper gathered that there have been lots of attacks by opposition parties and results manipulations in some polling units across the country with no effort from INEC or its security agents to resolve the challenges.
Reacting to the situation, Sen. San wrote; “Nigeria’s most expensive election in history. In elections, when there is delay, there is magic.”
