Pope Francis has called for “an end to the attacks” in Israel and Palestine amid the ongoing conflict between Israeli forces and Palestinian militants.
VerseNews reports that he made the request during his Angelus prayer at St while explaining that “terrorism and war do not lead to a solution”.
Peter’s Square in the Vatican, he expressed his solidarity with the victims’ families and called for an end to the attacks in Israel.
The Pope emphasized that terrorism and war do not provide a solution but instead lead to death and suffering for many innocent people.
His statement comes as the conflict continues to escalate in the region.
“I follow with apprehension and pain what is happening in Israel… I express my solidarity with the families of the victims,” he said.
“May the attacks and the weapons cease, I beg you,” he said.
