A three-story building in Surulere, Lagos, collapsed at around 10:00 p.m. on a Friday night at No. 14 Ikpoh Street, but fortunately, there were no casualties reported.
VerseNews reports that the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), through its Territorial Coordinator, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye, confirmed the incident’s lack of casualties.
One of the building’s occupants, Mr. Gervase Anyanwu, stated that all occupants were able to evacuate safely after hearing a large sound from one of the building’s wings.
Anyanwu attributed the absence of casualties to the quick response and evacuation of the occupants, calling it a result of divine grace.
Another resident on the street mentioned that the building had exhibited significant signs of distress before its collapse.
