Gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, have attacked the palace of the Olukoro of Koro in Kwara State, Nigeria, killing the traditional ruler, Retired General Segun Aremu, and abducting his wife and two others.
VerseNews reports that the incident occurred around 8:45 pm on Thursday.
The Kwara State government confirmed the killing and abduction, condemning the act and urging security agencies to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq expressed condolences to the people of Koro and emphasized the commitment to bringing the culprits to justice.
Efforts to reach the state police command for comments were unsuccessful.
