The family of Humphrey Anumudu, who is a Labour Party (LP) governorship aspirant in the forthcoming governorship primary holding in Imo State, has been confirmed dead.
VerseNews Nigeria reports that a family friend who craved anononymity said he died on Friday evening in his house at Lagos.
Reports gathered by this Online News Media had it that Anumudu who is from Mbieri Ancient Kingdom in Mbaitoli Local Government Area (LGA) of Imo State died after returning from a meeting at the LP secretariat in Abuja.

There was no report of any health challenge he was suffering from.

- Anumudu was a multi-billionare and a politician until death
- He has been contesting for governorship seat of Imo State since 1998
- In 1998, he won the primary election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
- He later handover the ticket to Achike Udenwa who went on to rule the state between 1999 and 2007.
- Since then, he had been contesting for the number one seat of the state.
- In 2019, he was the Zenith Labour party governorship candidate.
